The SOS-SRF has held twice-yearly Internet auctions of Siberian Husky related items since we were first created in 1998. They are one of our major fundraising activities. One of the original ideas for our group was that we would spin the undercoat of our Siberian Huskies into yarn (Siberwool) which would be used to create crafts that would be auctioned to raise funds to help Siberians Huskies in rescue. These crafts include hats, scarves, dreamcatchers and mittens. When we asked our supporters for additional donations for the auction they responded with an eclectic array of stuffed toys, ceramics, pictures, puzzles, jewellery, books and other hand-crafted or purchased items.

Our auctions are held in the spring and fall. The fall 2024 auction will be held from November 4 to 10. If you register as an auction participant, you will receive an email before the auction.

We are using our own home grown application for this auction. If you want to participate you must register. The Auction FAQ link on the left gives information on how the auction works and how to make a donation.

Thanks to everyone who participates in our auction either by making a donation or bidding.

For American participants:

Donors who purchase items at a charity auction may claim a charitable contribution deduction for the excess of the purchase price paid for an item over its fair market value. The donor must be able to show, however, that he or she knew that the value of the item was less than the amount paid. ... In addition, donors who provide goods for charities to sell at an auction may claim a charitable contribution donation. Click here to read more on the IRS web site.

Fall Auction Penelope Brown donated this poster through FaceBook. A little picture in the sidebar just didn't do it justice. Thank-you Penelope!
